DISCONTINUED - DO NOT ORDER We only have access to a few of the original 12inch vinyl that shipped with Scratch LIVE! This first edition works with all current software versions. Due to old technology involved in the mastering process, the original control vinyl (CV01) had a pitch variation pressed into every copy. This is due to the lathe which cut the master rotating at a slightly different speed at different points in the record. This variation in pitch (up to 0.7% in some places) can make it difficult to keep a long mix using two pieces of vinyl in sync, as the apparent speed of the records drift away from each other. This slight drift is not noticed by people who mix using short blends, as the pitch variation is slight so a perfectly blended mix takes many seconds to drift apart. Scratch LIVE software version 1.1 (build 1207 or higher) has automatic drift compensation which completely solves the drift issue when using the original vinyl. |
